Established in 2006, xMac are an independent computer training and solutions consultancy, helping all levels of Mac user to work and play more effectively with their Apple devices. If you are having difficulties with an application, operating system, iMac, MacBook, iPhone, iPad or you require training or something more serious, we can quickly get you on track and working again. More importantly, we will show you how to get the most from your Mac, Apple system and connected equipment and give you the expertise, together with a plain speaking consultant to help to manage your Apple computer device.

We don’t dazzle with jargon. We explain everything in plain English so that you can understand and trust our advice and our solutions. We offer a friendly, helpful service on all  support.

We can go further but we find that most work can be carried out via a direct remote internet connection – just follow the link at the bottom of this page, download the automated software and we’re sat next to you resolving your issues.

There are many standard charges for regular work, so do call or email to start a discussion about your requirements. Support contracts are also available for greater and prolonged piece-of-mind.

    Those wonderful shiny Apple stores can be pretty intimidating and while the Apple website is a thing of beauty, do you really have the time to wade through all those specifications? Let us know what your intentions are for your new system and in return we’ll offer you the best advice and where to buy it from.
  • POST-PURCHASE SET UP
    You’ve made your choice, the beautifully designed box has arrived, you take everything out lovingly, then what…? Many people (especially if they’re used to Windows or Linux PC’s) can be confused by Apple’s intuitive simplicity. No weighty manuals, just straightforward online help. And us of course.
  • TUITION & TRAINING
    Daily, there is so much to learn – technology is growing so fast. We can keep you up-to-date on all the latest development but also give you so many time-saving tips.
  • TELEPHONE, REMOTE & ON-SITE SUPPORT
    Whilst we do home/office visits, more often than not, we can resolve issues remotely. It’s very straightforward – follow the remote link at the bottom of this page, download the automatically appropriate software and this will give us the ability to remotely look your computer, but only when you allow xMac this control. It’s like having an assistant sat next to you.
  • APPLE SYSTEM CONFIGURATION
    This is where we configure the system settings so that functions determine the accessibility for certain system features, applications, to get the most out of your Mac system.
  • BROADBAND CONNECTIONS
    Whilst this is mostly straightforward, nothing could be further from the truth should you live in a rural area. We can troubleshoot so you get the fastest connection possible with your Internet Service Provider (ISP).
  • MIGRATIONS AND BACKUPS
    We will help you copy all your documents, apps, user accounts and settings to a new Mac computer from another Apple or Windows computer of a compatible age, to your new device.
  • UPGRADES AND REPAIRS
    We offer a complimentary diagnostic assessment and will undertake any repairs in our own workshops so no need take all your equipment and wait at an Apple’s Genius Bar or a rival's workshop!
  • DATA RECOVERY
    In the unfortunate event that a hard drive has become damaged, we can look at ways to retrieve your data. We will also advise on the best backup requirements for you and your system.
